Some people say its unnatural to to be so dependent on one unseen being. I disagree. Does anyone resent their dependance on oxygen? Or protest by holding their breath? Do they think that by doing so their proving that it doesn’t exist, or isn’t necessary? Just like oxygen I, we, need God to live, and just like oxygen its presence or reality as a necessity doesn’t cease to exist because we don’t use it or see it. Never does the oxygen refuse to lend its benefits because it disagrees with how we’re breathing it, or evaporate in protest.
In the same way, God won’t evaporate, because of our mistakes or our unwillingness to worship Him “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV). His love is always there and just like when I hold my breath I faint, so my soul, spirit and self grow faint when I can’t be with Him. Nothing can separate us from the love of God (Romans8:35)
Our choice to worship God, like breathing, doesn’t effect the source, it effect us. God is more loving than oxygen because His constancy, freedom and redemption by choice and love.
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:37-39 NIV)
