When thinking about art mediums, people often can forget about the magic of sculpture. In truth it’s one of the best ways to represent an emotion.
Painting, illustration, print, sketching,and photography, thought beautiful can fall short where sculpture excels; the former can’t give the observer a three dimensional experience and convey a magical, yet haunting presence, which can account for why their often seen in graveyards.
Furthermore, an artist can truly show his merit by creating, or releasing, the life contained inside the rock, this is not an easy task which requires specific tools, and immense skill and time, it took Michelangelo nearly three years to construct and refine the statue of David.
This is a skill that deserves huge respect, and the results of such labor are breathtaking.
